The Time Traveler's Husband

Thomas Overbeck

Aaaand we're off! This all takes place on July 27, 2013, by the way.

We start with Agent Scott explaining to Bethany's parents what the VIP section is (or rather, isn't... no use telling them it's a spot for future generations to go back and reminisce about the wedding). They're both Catholic, so they'd probably be astonished if they knew who the girl sitting behind them REALLY was.

Watch who you are calling a girl. Joan is a woman; has been for some time. She really hasn't been a girl for a couple of centuries now.

So "special accommodations" is not talking about wheelchairs. the "FZZZZT" sounds are not being made by the bug zapper.

"So who are that old couple in the back? No, I've met their parents already, but the resemblance is uncanny."

From the VIP section: "Wow Mom, you were right. This is awesome. Look at how young you were." "Watch it kiddo. I can still make a few changes."

David, I officially wish I could like both of your comments.

So does this mean Keith is the "usher" for the wedding?

...And I'm afraid to ask who's going to be in the back - Nicki?

In western culture, it is typical that the groomsmen act as the ushers before the service. Sometimes there will be another person act as usher once the ceremony begins; I have done that role before (stand at the back of the church and watch for late-comers).

Or "early comers", as the case may be here. ;)
