Personally, I'm not one for the double standard of "if a man sleeps around, that's normal for his sex drive, but if a woman sleeps around, she's a shameful slut". Let's leave that crap in the previous century, okay?

It just goes to show you that the days of fighting for the eyes of a lady in this day of age is a lost art.
But, the job of posturing oneself to look like a mule is ever prevalent

Yet still, being discarded like a used tissue hurts every gender, so why should one match the evil by reciprocating it?

If a key opens many locks, it's a master key; but if a lock is opened by many keys, it's a shitty key.
Not sexist, I understand it's unfair, but the social acceptance is unfortunately still here.

I suspect those rules are made by obnoxious women anyway:
"If she's getting more than I am, she's a slut; if he's indiscriminate, that TOTALLY works for me."

The sexual dichotomy comes from the difference in reproductive roles.
A man who finds enough willing females can start several pregnancies in a day; socially it is a really bad idea, but biologically, it is possible. It does not matter how many willing men a women gets (not hard to find), she can only start about one pregnancy per year.
This means that a women is instinctually looking for quality, while a man's instinct is to look for quantity. This is why a "stud" usually has a better reputation than a "slut", even though they are the same role but for the opposite genders. So many of the differences in attitude and social roles between the sexes is tied to that fact of biology.
