I don't know how many locations Starbucks had by 1978 (and I'm totally guessing on what their employees wore), but I'm pretty sure at least one of their managers were a little bit concerned after the high ratings of the "Battlestar Galactica" premiere.
TRANSCRIPTION COURTESY OF JOSEPH HOUK - [1978; a little coffee roaster shop on Pike Place, in Seattle, with a white pickup in front of the store] (TV voiceover) "Lieutenant Starbuck! The Cylons are attacking!" (Silhouette figure, inside the shop, watching a TV on the counter) "Oh, great… Just when our business is taking off… [interior of the Pike Place shop, TV tuned to Battlestar Galactica, and a rather worried Gordon Bowker – the man who supposedly came up with the name of the shop, looking on] …People are now gonna think of this 'Galactica' show when they hear the name Starbucks!" (CW, with a coffee in hand – but NOT from the shop, as they didn't sell drinks back then) "Ehh, just give it a few years… I'm pretty sure it'll be you guys ruling the galaxy!"
