In case you were wondering why there weren't any more attempts to spike the tea...

Comic transcript

TRANSCRIPTION COURTESY OF JOSEPH HOUK - (Dad notices that CW is distressed over something) "Cass, you okay?" (CW) "I don't know. I was trying to give mom some kind of… well…" (Dad) "Sweetie, I know you mean well, but your mother doesn't want any weird or exotic treatments. She's just real stubborn about wanting to do this on her own." (CW) "-Sigh- I just… can't let her die this way. I thought I could help." (Dad) "Look, I don't think I ever told you this. But when Carla first joined her church, she wanted you and Patrick to be full-time members with her. She wanted you to go to all their youth programs, to Sunday school, to follow all their strict guidelines." (CW) "Really? I remember she tried to talk me into it once." (Dad) "Yep. She would've just dragged you and your brother there with her every Sunday. But I put my foot down. I told her you two were old enough to decide for yourselves how to live your lives, and that you'd join if you wanted to. We fought about it off and on for days. But she eventually saw it my way – and she didn't bother y'all anymore about it. [reaches out to touch CW's shoulder] She let you make your own decisions about your life, so it's only fair that you let her do the same thing with hers."
